The DCRA is a non-profit group of restaurant owners/managers as well as people or businesses serving the restaurant industry. DCRA meets monthly to discuss issues and concerns within our county that relate to the restaurant industry.
What activities is the Dare County Restaurant Association involved with?
The DCRA sponsors the annual "Taste of the Beach" where local restaurants can display their talents and advertise their products to the general public. The public then votes for their favorites and the winning restaurants receive trophies and cash prizes. Proceeds are donated to local charities.
In past years the DCRA has contributed to other local charities such as: Outer Banks Hotline, DVAC, the local Food Bank, Relay for Life, March of Dimes and the Outer Banks Community Foundation. In 2001, the DCRA sent a donation to the World Trade Center Windows of Hope Foundation.
It is the goal of DCRA to create a "watchdog" group whereby members attend county and town meetings to gather information and voice our concerns over current and pending legislation pertinent to the restaurant industry.
The DCRA also has the ability to link our website to your website, and in turn, link to other websites. The more information we get out to the public about our services on the Outer Banks the more we all profit from it!

The DCRA monthly meeting is held at Kelly's Restaurant on the 1st Tuesday of every month at 3pm. Should the 1st Tuesday of the month fall on the first day of the month, the meeting will be postponed until the 2nd Tuesday as not to inhibit normal inventory operations. On occasion the DCRA holds "emergency meetings" based on industry issues that need immediate attention.
